Estimated vs Realized Savings

FuelOptix reports planning savings and post-flight results as separate metrics because they describe different moments in a mission’s lifecycle.

ESTIMATED SAVINGS

Baseline mission cost − optimized mission cost

Calculated from the saved optimization result during mission planning.

REALIZED SAVINGS

Baseline mission cost − actual completed mission cost

Available after completion data is entered and stored.

PLANNED VS ACTUAL

Actual vs Planned captures entered actual uplift, price, fees, landing fuel, and cost alongside the immutable saved optimized plan.

WHAT THE METRICS DO NOT CLAIM

FuelOptix does not attribute every cost difference to the application. Realized Savings is not displayed below zero, and it is not shown until completion data exists.

SAVED CONTEXT

Reporting retains estimated and realized values separately.

Dashboard and reporting views use saved optimization and completion values so a planned comparison is not confused with a post-flight outcome.
